Misted Mountain

misted mountainMisted mountain plastic wrap acLooking through a sketchbook from 2010/11, I came across a pencil crayon sketch of ‘misted mountains’ that I rather like. The second image has been altered through the paint program on my computer and is the first time I’ve liked the effect created by ‘plastic wrap’. It really brings out the subtlety of the mountains in the background as well as creating shadow to the water in the foreground which adds weight and presence to the misted mountain. I’ll be bringing both images to my Acrylics Painting class tonight to talk about tools one can use to help when thinking about using sketches to paint from.
