Big Blue Dragonfly

01 Jan

Big Blue DragonflyBig Blue Dragonfly is a recent piece created as part of a submission for an upcoming group art show called January Blues to be held at the Deer Lake Gallery in Burnaby, BC. It’s too early to know if my work will be accepted but I have enjoyed the chance to create yet another dragonfly piece before 2012 ended. This one fits within a 12″ circle and is designed to be hung against a wall or (even better) to hung from a ceiling so it will turn and be seen form both sides and that way the light can filter through the translucent wings.

Big Blue is the first of 4 pieces I’ve created recently and I will be showcasing the other works over the next few days.

Love the dragonfly … you captured the delicate structure of this insect that can eat thousands of mosquitoes a day!
