Seahorse with Mohawk

29 Jun

Earlier in June I attended the Glen East Festival of the Arts event  in South Hadley, Massachusetts. The theme was ‘Acts of Attention; Art as Discovery”. I was enrolled in a fiber arts workshop with Jo-Ann Van Reeuwyk with 6 other enthusiasts. It’s impossible to put into words how illuminating and inspiring the week was but I’m looking forward to how my work continues to be informed by my week at the Glen.

My first act on returning to my studio was a small step where I finished one of my miniature seahorses that I had brought with me. He turned into quite a character with his rainbow streaming out from behind him and his Mohawk style mane. I think he’s a good representative of the playful, exploratory place my art work is at right now.
