To Dream a Good Dream

24 Mar

“To Dream a Good Dream” is another early work. She was originally created for a springtime group show; “Healing the Earth”. Symbolic elements in this mixed media, fibre art piece include:
Circle as earth, time, life and/or seasons.
Figure in Circle is Earth, Wisdom, or the Good Dream.
Figure lying down is the Dreamer who is anyone with a dream for a healthy Earth.
Shells represent possibilities, ideas, and/or dreams.
Arrowheads denote the passage of time and everyone working together.
This work was created by using a stretched canvas that I cut into and then inserted a rope covered wooden circle. I used primarily recycled fabrics and found objects. The arrowheads were bought at a Science Centre and were the missing piece to the work. The colours represent the colours of mankind.
