PROFILE at a GLANCE

I am a lifelong learner with a ‘can do’ attitude, innovative problem solving skills, and an appreciation for collaborative projects. At the root of my education is a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Mount Allison University, NB. During my years lived in Alberta I added to my art expertise through a variety of classes including: Advanced Watercolours, Visual Communications, Art Therapy, Arts Education, Chinese Brush Painting, Puppetry Workshops, Children’s Book Illustration, and Art and Business courses.

With these skills I was able to: design and teach Curriculum-Based Arts Education classes in Calgary Schools (Kindergarten to Grade Ten), create and teach an Adult Learning Class at the Alberta College of Art and Design called ‘Symbology and the Doll’, and create and facilitate other Professional and Personal Development Art Workshops as requested. My last two years in Alberta I was the Expressive Arts Teacher at Wellspring Calgary – an innovative, adult, Cancer Support Centre.

I moved to Coquitlam in 2009 and have been a Visual Arts teacher for adults and children at Place des Arts Art in Coquitlam as well as teaching privately. I have exhibited my art in both group and solo shows in BC and continue to take classes. Graduate studies at Regent College in 2012-13 (Christianity and the Arts concentration) updated and refined my understanding of Modern and Post-Modern Art, increased my research abilities, and strengthened articulation of thought – both verbal and written.
